20 Things Harry Potter Film Supporting Actors Are Doing Now

7. Alfie Enoch - Dean Thomas

Alfie Enoch Alfie Enoch was cast at the age of eleven for the first film and appeared in all eight. He played Dean Thomas, Harry's fellow Gryffindor classmate, who was Muggleborn and a huge supporter of West Ham. Also, he was besties with Seamus Finnegan. Since the end of production on Harry Potter, Enoch has put his acting pedigree (his father is famous Doctor Who actor William Russell) to good use. He had a small but memorable role in the Sherlock episode The Sign of Three, and has done some work with the National Theatre in London. He appeared as Philotus in their production of Timon of Athens back in 2012, but he garnered a great deal more attention from his performance as Titus Lartius in Shakespeare's Coriolanus alongside Tom Hiddleston and Mark Gatiss. This year, he's made the jump to television, where he's starring on the intriguing new drama How To Get Away With Murder. He plays Wes Gibbens, a law student in a criminal defense class taught by Professor Keating (Viola Davis), who then gets embroiled in a murder plot.

6. Harry Melling - Dudley Dursley

Harry Melling Melling was one of the few children on the set unlucky enough not to set foot on the Hogwarts set, as he played Harry's spoiled, bullying cousin Dudley, who seemed to live life solely to eat food and make Harry's life miserable. He was featured in five of the eight Harry Potter films. Another child actor from an auspicious theatrical family (he is the grandson of Patrick Troughton (the Second Doctor on Doctor Who), as well as the nephew of actors David and Michael Troughton and first cousin of actor Sam Troughton), he is well poised to continue his acting career as an adult. But perhaps the biggest asset he has going for him right now is that, as a thin 25-year-old actor, he doesn't look anything like the pudgy character that made him famous. Since the wrap of Harry Potter, he's worked mainly in television and theater. Over the past few years, he's been in a number of theatrical productions, perhaps most auspicious among them this year's production of King Lear with Frank Langella. As far as television goes, Melling was featured in Merlin for one episode as Gilli, which was his first real post-Potter role, and has also had recurring roles on Just William and Garrow's Law. Perhaps a Doctor Who appearance is in the cards?
