20 Things Harry Potter Film Supporting Actors Are Doing Now

5. Evanna Lynch - Luna Lovegood

Evanna Lynch Plucked from obscurity at the age of 15, Evanna Lynch was a fan of the book series first, an actress second. She beat out thousands of other unknown actresses to play the role of Luna Lovegood, a kind, spacey, wonderful little witch, who first makes an appearance in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. With no prior acting experience to her name before being featured as one of the main crew of supporting characters in the most popular film franchise ever, she's had her work cut out for her to be seen as anything other than Loony Luna Lovegood. Her largest role to date since Potter ended is a crime thriller called Dynamite: A Cautionary Tale, which is currently in post-production slated to come out sometime next year. But by far her most awesome work was a cameo in the staged reading of A Very Potter Senior Year at Leakycon, where she reprised her role of Luna Lovegood alongside the Starkid cast who had already created two Harry Potter musical parodies.

4. Domhnall Gleeson - Bill Weasley

Domhnall Gleeson The son of fellow Harry Potter actor Brendan Gleeson (Mad-Eye Moody), Domhnall was cast as Ron Weasley's impossibly cool older brother Bill. He's a member of the Order of the Phoenix, worked as a curse breaker in Egypt, got married to part Veela Fleur Delacour, and is basically just an all around rock star. Out of all the younger generation of supporting actors in Harry Potter (that is to say, not the adult actors who were already well-established by the time they did the film series), Domhnall Gleeson has had probably most prolific post-Potter career, with the exception of Robert Pattinson, who played Cedric Diggory in Goblet of Fire and went on to star in Twilight. Gleeson had a leading role in an episode of Black Mirror, a critically-acclaimed television anthology series that serves two purposes: to tell really unsettling stories, and to showcase remarkable talent. Last year, he got his first major starring role in Richard Curtis's About Time, a film about a young man who discovers that he can travel back in his own timeline. But perhaps the most exciting part of Gleeson's career is what's about to happen: earlier this year, it was announced that he'll be starring in the much-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII. So we'll be seeing a lot more of the likable Irishman over the next few years, we imagine.
