20 Things That Almost Completely Changed The MCU

7. Liam Hemsworth Was Nearly Cast Over His Brother In The Role Of Thor

Sibling rivalries! You can't beat 'em. When Thor was first announced, then, pretty much every single male actor in Hollywood auditioned for the role. In a remarkable turn of events, however, when it came down to the final two, Marvel realised that the most suitable actors were both Hemsworths. That's right: after turning down Charlie Hunnam, Joel Kinnaman, Tom Hiddleston and Alexander Skarsgard, Marvel decided that either Liam or Chris Hemsworth should get the role of Thor. Talk about an awkward moment, right? "We both came all the way over here from Australia and ended up battling against each other," said Chris on the matter. Marvel eventually opted for Chris, which - having seen the actor in the role of the Norse God - feels like the right decision. But it's strange to consider a scenario in which Chris was unavailable and Liam ended up as Thor instead, isn't it?
