20 Things You Didn't Know About A View To A Kill (1985)

4. Dolph Lundgren’s Cameo

A View To A Kill
MGM/UA

Swedish action star, Dolph Lundgren was Grace Jones’s bodyguard before becoming her boyfriend. He had his debut role in A View to a Kill.

He was in Chantilly, France when the film’s director, John Glen realised that he needed a bodyguard to accompany Walter Gotell’s General Gogol when he confronts Max Zorin.

Believably filling the role of a Russian or East German heavy, Lundgren gives the vicious May Day a cautious glance when she effortlessly lifts his colleague, the appropriately-named Klotkoff (Bogdan Kominowski), off his feet and hurls him aside.

A few months later, Lundgren won his breakthrough role as Ivan Drago in Rocky IV after contacting Sylvester Stallone.

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
