20 Things You Didn't Know About A View To A Kill (1985)

19. Blooming Feud!

Roger Moore did not enjoy filming A View to a Kill, not only given his age and the violence featured in the film, but also due to his long-rumoured feud with Grace Jones.

Moore was modest in providing details, but some did leak out. For instance, Jones played rock music in her dressing room, awakening Roger from his afternoon nap next door, to the point where he reportedly once threw a chair at the wall.

Grace Jones revealed that Moore was one of her favourite co-stars, but she felt that her tendency to remain in character may have contributed to the difficulties, as May Day was supposed to hate Double-0 Seven.

One thing they could agree on was that Moore’s sense of humour helped to get them both through. Jones struggled with May Day's reaction when she finds James Bond in her bed - until Roger put a pair of bloomers on his head to ensure that her surprised expression was genuine!

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
