20 Things You Didn't Know About A View To A Kill (1985)

13. Sparks Will Fly

A View To A Kill
MGM/UA

After May Day has been betrayed by Zorin, she suddenly recognises her boyfriend as being insane and ruthless. Thirsting for revenge, she sides with James Bond in foiling Max’s mad scheme.

As they wade through the floodwaters inside the old Main Strike silver mine, some fallen wires spark at them. May Day screams and shields herself from the threat, but this was not acting on Jones’s part; she was genuinely afraid.

Director, John Glen later told her that he had left the wires connected to the electricity supply to get a genuine reaction from her; she hit him in response.

However, Glen's decision seems appropriate, especially given that May Day is named after the French word “m’aidez” (help me).

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
