20 Things You Didn't Know About Alien 3

14. David Fincher Had No Control Over The Film

David Fincher is one of the most consistently talented film directors alive today. For over 30 years, he has released astounding work including The Social Network, Gone Girl, and Zodiac.

Even though he had directed over 50 music videos before he bagged the director's chair of AlienĀ³, he had never directed a feature. In the producers' eyes, Fincher was a nobody. Because the studio was losing millions of dollars due to delays and miscommunication, the producers took matters into their own hands, believing they couldn't rely on an inexperienced director to save the production. According to Fincher, they kept interfering with the film, made drastic changes without his consent, and locked him out of the editing room for a year. When Ridley Scott visited the set and learned what the producers had done, he told Fincher "This is not the way to make movies."

Even though the film came out three decades ago, Fincher still refuses to talk about his time on AlienĀ³, saying it was the most humiliating experience in his filming career.
