20 Things You Didn't Know About American Psycho
1. Guinevere Turner, Who Plays Elizabeth, Also Wrote The Movie
The film's script was by co-written by Harron and Guinevere Turner, the latter of whom also makes a surprise appearance in the film as Bateman's ill-fated acquaintance Elizabeth, who memorably mocks him for owning a Whitney Houston CD.
Turner also took the opportunity to include a couple of meta flourishes in the script, as her character tells Bateman, "I'm not a lesbian!" (Turner is gay in real life), and later mentions Sarah Lawrence College, the very real college that Turner herself attended.
Harron and Turner have since collaborated twice more, on 2005's The Notorious Bettie Page and 2018's Charles Manson biopic Charlie Says.
