20 Things You Didn't Know About Batman Begins

3. Victor Zsasz

Batman Begins
Warner Bros.

One Batman foe that has become popular in recent years is the demented mass-murderer, Victor Zsasz. He is easy to recognise since his body is covered in tally-marks, each one representing a person he has killed. He has appeared in the Batman: Arkham games, the tv series, Gotham, and he was Black Mask's right-hand man in Birds of Prey.

Apart from die-hard DC fans, a lot of viewers didn't notice that he cameos in Batman Begins. He is played by Tim Booth, who is the lead singer of the band, James. He is first seen in the film on trial for his murder streak. The psychiatrist, Jonathan Crane, advises the judge that Zsasz is more dangerous to himself than to others and so, should be sent to a rehabilitation centre rather than a prison. His tally marks aren't as visible in the film as they appear in the comics but you can see them if you look closely at his neck.

The character doesn't serve any purpose to the plot but it's a nice little cameo that comic fans really appreciated.
