20 Things You Didn't Know About Batman Begins

4. Michael Caine Had Been To The Batcave Before

The Batcave in Batman Begins was very different from the other movies because it was the first time it was constructed on a full-scale set. In the previous movies, the cave was only partially built and paintings of cavern walls were used to give the impression it was much larger than it was.

When Michael Caine first set foot in Bruce Wayne's hideout, he realised that he had been there before. You see, the Batcave was constructed at Shepperton Studios in London. Michael Caine worked on the same sound-stage 49 years prior on his very first movie, A Hill in Korea. The story takes place during the Korean War (which Caine fought in).

Caine said he was so nervous being on set for the first time that he screwed up his dialogue. In his own words, “I had eight lines in that picture, and I screwed up six of them. It was on this stage that I said my very first line in a movie!"

Weirdly, A Hill in Korea stars Harry Andrews, who also starred in a DC movie. (He played The Elder in the 1978 film, Superman.)
