7. "Following" Off From Christopher Nolan's Previous Work...
Perhaps to make himself feel a bit more comfortable on his first "big studio picture, Christopher Nolan peppered Batman Begins with cameos from his previous films. Both Larry Holden and Mark Boone Junior, who played district attorney Finch and Detective Flass respectively, came back from Nolans Memento; and if people like to joke about The Dark Knight Rises starring the cast of Inception, then maybe Batman Begins deserves a credit for including the cast of Following, since about ¾ of the (admittedly miniscule) cast of Nolans guerilla made first feature pop up in cameos. Jeremy Theobold, the lead in Following, plays the Younger Wayne Enterprises Water Board Technician, who tells an older technician that the pressures spiking; Lucy Russell, the female lead in Following, pops up as a Gotham socialite who believes "the Batman deserves a medal." And John Nolan, the interrogating policeman in Following, has a few key scenes as Fredericks, the older Wayne Enterprises Board Member who remains loyal to both Thomas Wayne and his son. (John, by the way, is Christopher Nolans uncle, and his daughter appeared as a maid in the opening scenes of The Dark Knight Rises).
