5. Fans Went On Promotional Poster Stealing Sprees
People evidently loved Michelle Pfeiffer’s jaw-dropping look in the film to the extent that Warner Brothers had to constantly dish out new promotional posters bearing her image to various cities across America in the run up to the film’s release.
Several of the advertisements, many hung in Plexiglas at bus stops, were being stolen, and it got so bad that police officers had to patrol certain areas to prevent the perpetrators from striking again. How very Gotham City-esque.
They say that crime doesn’t pay, of course, but in this case it just might have, because those prints have been known to fetch a pretty penny on the old interweb.
