19. Sean Young Was Desperate To Play Catwoman
Have you really wanted something? Like, really really really wanted something to the point where it occupies your every waking thought and you dream about it every night when you close your eyes to go to sleep? Yes? Well whatever it was you wanted, you definitely didn't want it as much as Sean Young wanted to play Catwoman in Batman Returns.
Young had initially been cast to play Vickie Vale in Batman three years earlier, but fell off a horse during rehearsals and broke her arm, forcing the production team to cast Kim Bassinger in her place.
Undeterred, however, Young set her sights on the role of Selena Kyle in the sequel, and was so determined to convince Burton to offer her the part that she handmade her own catsuit, and appeared in character as Catwoman on The Joan Rivers Show in an attempt to convince the director that she was the perfect casting call.
Needless to say, this did not work. Still, God loves a trier.
