20 Things You Didn't Know About Batman & Robin

18. The Canned Sequel Wanted To Bring Back Every Villain From The Franchise

Before Batman & Robin turned out to be a disaster that sent the franchise into hibernation for close to a decade, Joel Schumacher had big plans for his planned sequel Batman Unchained.

Scarecrow was set to play the main antagonist, and Schumacher's grand idea was to reunite all of the franchise's major villains for cameo appearances during a scene where Batman was heavily under the influence of Dr. Crane's fear toxins.

The original plan was to bring back Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer and even Jack Nicholson to continue haunting the Caped Crusader as The Penguin, Catwoman and The Joker respectively, which would have made for a neat visual, but also an incredibly expensive dream sequence.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
