20 Things You Didn't Know About Catwoman

5. Sharon Stone Had Previously Been Considered To Portray Another Batman Villain

Catwoman is not, strictly speaking, a Batman-related film, but it does depict a character who is loosely adapted from the DC Comics character.

Therefore, Laurel Hedare is a DC Comics villain in her own right, albeit not one of the fondly remembered ones, even though she has a good presence as the villain in this film.

Nevertheless, Sharon Stone had been considered for the role of Poison Ivy in Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin before Uma Thurman was cast.

She was undoubtedly considered for that role based on what is perhaps her best-known role: the manipulative yet irresistible Catherine Tramell in the 1992 film, Basic Instinct.

She always has been better playing evil characters!

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
