20 Things You Didn't Know About Catwoman

Even though the main villain in Catwoman is actually Sharon Stone's bitter ex-model, Laurel Hedare, for the majority of the film, Patience Phillips's Catwoman is actually menaced by Laurel's henchmen, one of whom is gunsel, Armando, portrayed by Michael Massee.

Massee had also portrayed the trigger-happy thug, Funboy, in the 1994 film The Crow. Sadly, he also bore the burden of being the actor who had fired the shot that unintentionally killed that film's star, Brandon Lee.

Understandably traumatised by the accident, Massee took a year off from acting and never saw The Crow, reporting in 2005 that he still had nightmares about Lee's death.

The year after Catwoman was released, Massee voiced the character of Spellbinder in the Warner Brothers animated series, The Batman. Being no stranger to comic book adaptations, Massee later portrayed villain, The Gentleman in the 2012 film, The Amazing Spider-Man and in its 2014 sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
