20 Things You Didn't Know About Die Hard 2

4. The "Glock 7" Is A Fictional Gun

Die Hard 2 Bruce Willis

The most prominent weapon featured throughout the movie is the Glock 7, which is said to be undetectable to X-ray machines in airports.

However, this is entirely fabricated for the purposes of the film. For starters, there's no such gun as a Glock 7 - the firearm featured in the film is modelled from a Glock 17, and the idea of a gun made entirely out of porcelain is simply ridiculous.

More to the point, making a non-metal gun doesn't solve the problem of metal ammo. Nevertheless, the weapon's inclusion in the film only furthered the belief among the general public that Glocks were the go-to-gun for anyone trying to sneak a firearm into a public place.

The film's armorer, Mike Papac, even tried to dissuade the production from including the plot point, though his complaints seemingly fell upon deaf ears.
