20 Things You Didn't Know About Die Hard
13. Bruce Willis' Face Was Removed From Early Marketing To Prevent People Thinking It Was A Comedy
In addition to the eyebrow-raising salary Bruce Willis received for the role, his mere presence as an action hero was massively divisive ahead of the film's release.
The actor was primarily known for the hit TV series Moonlighting, for which he won both the Best Actor Golden Globe and Emmy the year before Die Hard was released.
In fact, there was so much concern that Willis' presence in the movie's marketing would make audiences believe it was a comedy, that his face was removed from early posters, with the focus instead placed on the Nakatomi Plaza.
Shortly after the film was released, however, Willis was restored to the posters, cementing him as a bonafide action hero.
