20 Things You Didn't Know About Dr. No

Ursula Andress undoubtedly gives Dr. No its standout moment (and one of the most iconic scenes in the series) when she steps out of the surf onto a Jamaican beach wearing a bikini, a scuba mask, and a hunting belt.

However, even though she appealed to red-blooded members of the audience and set the standard for the Bond Girls who followed her, she did not go nude for the decontamination sequence in Dr. No's lair.

Photographs exist of Andress wearing a flesh-coloured tunic during the scene but, even though it is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, this covering can be seen in the final film.

Andress comes to the end of the decontamination chamber's shower where she is quickly covered up with a robe by a female guard; in the split second between these two things happening, it is possible to see that Ursula was preserving her modesty during filming.

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
