4. The Film's Fictional Restaurant Became A Real One After Shooting

One of the film's prominent locations is "The Bar," a fictional bar-restaurant created solely for the movie itself while shooting in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

However, after shooting wrapped the location was purchased with the new owners intending to keep the name and re-open it in earnest as a fine dining restaurant, while also including it as a stop on the city's Gone Girl tour.

In the year's since the film's release, however, The Bar has been open only sporadically, despite receiving generally solid reviews from punters.
