3. Emily Ratajkowski Was Cast Upon Ben Affleck's Recommendation
Model-actress Emily Ratajkowski has a small but memorable role in the film as Andie Fitzgerald, Nick's student and mistress.
Ratajkowski wasn't known to Fincher when the part was being cast, but was recommended to him by none other than Ben Affleck, who urged Fincher to watch the infamous video for Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," in which she appears nude.
Fincher, himself known as a bit of a taskmaster, was nevertheless reportedly impressed by her work ethic on set, while she said of the experience, "I was ready to be a student, and he is the best teacher. He wants to do a hundred takes, and I want to do them for him."
