Rather ironically, for a movie all about the love of classic music, High Fidelity has apparently also inspired the creation of new music.

Regina Spektor's song "Fidelity" remains her most popular release to date, being both her first entry into the Billboard 100 and by far her most-streamed song on Spotify. Those accolades, however, are reportedly all thanks to this film.

Rumours have persisted since the song's release that Spektor wrote it while watching High Fidelity, and though we can't find a concrete source on this, the lovelorn lyrics certainly fit the film's themes well enough.
