20 Things You Didn't Know About Inglourious Basterds

10. Academy Recognition

Inglorious Basterds
NBC

Tarantino movies have received Academy recognition (and many other industry award organisations) since his early days in the 1990s. Starting with Pulp Fiction in 1995, for which he won Best Original Screenplay, his movies have featured in many award short lists since then.

Inglourious Basterds was no exception, garnering eight nominations (Picture, Director, Actor, Screenplay, Cinematography, Editing, Sound, and Sound Mixing) and winning two; Christophe Waltz won the Oscar for his chilling performance as Colonel Hans Landa and QT himself grabbed the statue for his wordsmith skills.

Inglourious Basterds was also nominated for six BAFTA's, with Waltz winning that one too. In fact, this film was nominated for a staggering 103 awards, winning 44.
