20 Things You Didn't Know About JFK

5. The Jerry Johnson Show Is Not Real, But...

Jfk Movie
Warner Bros. Pictures

In the film, Garrison pays a visit to the Jerry Johnson show, a Carson-like late-night show where the audience seemingly mocks him. Jerry Johnson is played by the always reliable John Larroquette, but the actor knew better than to try and imitate Carson.

Garrison did appear on The Tonight Show in 1968, with Carson pressing Garrison with surprisingly hard-hitting questions. Garrison has cited this as part of the media's complacent cover-up of the assassination. Audio from the interview was used in an episode of Mad Men.
