With all the controversy, debate about whether the work was exploitative and public fights in the press, JFK was released on December 20, 1991. The production, which included countless location shots, wrapped in only 71 days. With a budget of just $40, it raked in over $200 at the box office.

But with pretty much every conspiracy theory thrown at the wall throughout the film, one wonders just what the director himself believes. Perhaps it's best to use his own words. When asked at the National Press Conference if he believed the government was, on some level, involved in the assassinations of JFK, Martin Luther King Jr. and RFK, he said one word: "Yes."
