In December of 1991, Stone screened the finish version of the film to all of Congress on Capitol Hill. After years of debate, stories from those who were present for the terrifying event speaking out about it, politicians writing it off, journalists and film critics calling it a paranoid, delusional fantasy, it was finally time for them to eat their words.

And not only was JFK the success it deserved to be, garnering eight Academy Award nominations, it had changed history. Congress passed the 1992 Assassinations Disclosure Act, which allowed for the hidden information gathered about JFK and the assassination be de-classified and open to the public in 2017.

Though Trump tried to make a big deal of it, nothing mind blowing has been disclosed.
