16. The "Beard" Operation
In an alleged gathering between David Ferrie (Joe Pesci), Willie O'Keefe (Kevin Bacon) and Shaw are at a gathering with Oswald, Pesci is off the rails crazy, spouting out pro-communist, radical nonsense and snorting amyl nitrates for all the homosexual sex he and Shaw intended to have later that evening (this is probably not true, but we do know that Shaw was gay from the file J. Edgar Hoover kept on him). Much of the basis for Garrison's theory during the trial comes from the testimony of the actual Willie O'Keefe (Perry Russo).
One of the rants Pesci goes on, however, wasn't all that crazy. At one point, he says the Americans should poison Fidel Castro's food - not lethally, just to make him lose hair as, "He'd look f*****g ridiculous without that beard."
This was an actual, legitimate failed CIA operation.
