20 Things You Didn't Know About Mad Max: Fury Road

10. But They Kissed And Made Up – Sort Of

As Theron has made clear in several recent interviews, the stress of a difficult movie shoot in often hugely challenging conditions exacerbated whatever tension already existed between herself and Hardy. Nevertheless, anyone fearing that their fallings-out could negate a reunion in future films needn’t be overly concerned, as Theron explains:

“For me personally it was an exhausting movie to make. But there was never anything personal between Tom and me. I wouldn’t have wanted to make this movie with anybody else.”

To prove there were no hard feelings, as the shoot neared its end Hardy left a self-portrait in Theron’s trailer, on the back of which was a red handprint and an inscription that read:

“You are an absolute nightmare, BUT you are also f*ck*ng awesome. I'll kind of miss you. Love, Tommy."
