20 Things You Didn't Know About Mission Impossible 2
9. Someone Actually Says "Mission Impossible"
Saying the title of the film is a reasonable big re-occurrence in movies despite it often being considered quite cheesy. Perhaps that is why the Mission: Impossible movies have generally steered clear of doing it, with one exception.
MI2 is the only one in the franchise to actually have a character say: "Mission Impossible"
In the scene where Hunt is being briefed about the upcoming mission by Swanbeck, the head of the IMF exclaims:
"This is not Mission: Difficult, Mr Hunt, it's Mission: Impossible. Difficult should be a walk in the park for you."
While it is undoubtedly a corny moment, it sets the tone for the rest of the movie and if you're going to have anyone say, at least having the great Sir Anthony Hopkins deliver it, makes it all the better.
