As previously alluded to, the soundtrack for MI2 is, how should we say, not to everyone's taste, but one thing it definitely is, is VERY early 2000s. the notable song on the soundtrack was Metallica's I Disappear, but it wasn't the music that makes it memorable.

When a demo of the song leaked on the radio before its official release, the band traced the leak back to online music sharing service Napster. This would all eventually lead to the band suing and Metallica v Napster Inc. court case, the first such case of an artist suing a peer-to-peer software company.

Metallica won and Napster were forced to remove all Metallica songs from their service but the ramifications of the outcome were far more wide-reaching for the music industry.
