5. The Editor's Impressive Technical Prowess

As mentioned before, Parasite’s technical achievements are just as impressive as its narrative ones. In addition to clever VFX work and purposeful production design, the film’s editing is an Oscar-nominated triumph despite being done using software that is archaic by today’s standards.

Jinmo Yang mentioned that he employed the Final Cut Pro 7 editing software to cut the movie’s footage despite it being nearly 10 years old by the time of shooting and post-production. He stated that the software served him well in past ventures (such as Okja) and that his decision to edit the film on-set further streamlined the process.

It just goes to show that seemingly outdated tools can still be useful if employed by a person well versed in their craft.
