14. Hitchcock's Cameo Is Early In The Movie For A Specific Reason

As reliably as the sun coming up tomorrow, you can watch an Alfred Hitchcock movie safe in the comfort that he'll most likely make a cameo appearance at one point. Of his 52 surviving films, he showed up in a staggering 40 of them.

But Hitch was also well aware that audiences would keep their eyes peeled for his cameos, often to the point of distracting from the film itself, and so with Psycho he ensured to show up incredibly early so that viewers would focus on the actual story afterwards.

Indeed, Hitch appears just seven minutes into the film as a man wearing a cowboy hat outside Marion's office, after which audiences can stop scanning every shot for him and just enjoy the movie itself.
