16. Aaliyah Turned Down The Role Of Brenda For One Specific Reason
Late pop legend Aaliyah, who sadly passed away the year after Scary Movie's release, was originally offered the role of Cindy's obnoxious friend Brenda Meeks.
However, she turned the part down for one major reason: it was a clear parody of Brandy Norwood's character Karla Wilson in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
Being a friend of Brandy's, Aaliyah declined to make fun of her friend, and so the part instead went to Regina Hall, who we can probably all agree was the perfect casting choice.
An extra fun fact: rap icon Lil' Kim was also briefly considered to play Brenda, which also probably would've worked out pretty well.
