20 Things You Didn't Know About Shutter Island
10. No Original Score Was Composed For The Film
If you haven't seen Shutter Island in quite some time, it's easy to forget that the film doesn't actually feature any original music whatsoever.
Instead, Scorsese hired his frequent collaborator Robbie Robertson - who just recently composed the score and selected the soundtrack for The Irishman - to come up with a selection of existing music to use in the movie.
As a result, the soundtrack consists entirely of modern classical music, borrowing from the famed likes of Brian Eno and Max Richter.
As brilliantly placed as the film's music is, it also of course disqualified Shutter Island from being nominated for the Best Original Score Oscar.
