20 Things You Didn't Know About Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker
15. A Stolen Copy Of The Script Ended Up On EBay (Because Of John Boyega)
A few weeks before the film's release, J.J. Abrams reported that a copy of the script ended up on eBay during production, and in order to prevent spoilers leaking online, a Disney employee quickly purchased the script for an undisclosed sum after verifying its authenticity.
Abrams wouldn't disclose which actor let their screenplay slip, though mere days later John Boyega admitted that he was the one. He said:
"Let me tell you how this one went down... I was moving apartments and I left the script under my bed. I was just like, you know what, I'll leave it under my bed. When I wake up in the morning I'll take it and move, but my boys came over and, you know, we started partying a little bit and then the script just - it just stayed there. Then a few weeks after, you know, a cleaner comes in, finds the script and then puts it on eBay for like 65 pounds. So the person didn't know the true value."
Talk about a close call.
