20 Things You Didn't Know About The Blair Witch Project

16. The Blair Witch Was Meant To Appear

A scene was actually planned and executed that would briefly show the Blair Witch in all her glory. The only problem was, whoever was on camera duties actually forgot to capture the shot.

The particular moment for this appearance is when the characters all get freaked out and run out of their tent. With Heather yelling about “what the f**k is that?!”, the “that” in question is indeed the Blair Witch.

For this scene, the camera was meant to pan to the left and get a glimpse of an eerie figure - played by art director Ricardo Moreno - dressed in a white gown and seen in the distance. Instead, the camera operator actually forgot to pan left and so the Blair Witch herself was never captured on camera.

Following this, it was decided not to bother redoing the shot and to instead leave a visual representation of the Blair Witch out of the movie.

The Blair Witch would later appear in 2016's Blair Witch, as pictured.
