the dark knight senator If the man who tells the Joker €œwe€™re not intimidated by thugs!€ looks familiar, you might be watching too much C-Span. The man in question is Patrick Leahy, democratic senator from Vermont, who also happens to be a massive Batman fan €“ massive enough that he got a quote on the back cover of Frank Miller€™s Dark Knight Strikes Again, a voice over cameo in Batman: The Animated Series and a brief appearance at Bruce Wayne€™s white slave auction €“ er, €œcharity fundraiser€ in Batman & Robin. Fortunately, Leahy surived Schumacher€™s fiasco to appear in two much better Batman films: he showed up in The Dark Knight, and then reprised his role as (apparently) a senior Wayne Enterprises board member in The Dark Knight Rises.
