20 Things You Didn't Know About The Omen

6. Ave Satani

Composer Jerry Goldsmith wrote the haunting theme for the film, Ave Satani (Hail Satan in Latin), as well as all the other music. He received an Oscar nomination, but did not want to attend, as he had been nominated several times over the years. Sadly, it was his only win.

Ave Satani, however, is a triumphant work, doing precisely what a film score should do. Goldsmith created a haunting Latin choral chant that's only more terrifying when translated: We drink the blood, we eat the flesh, raise the body of Satan.

Moreover, the scores lyrical themes are surprisingly complex, contrasting the Thorn's pleasant home life with the confrontation of evil.
