Christopher Nolan loves playing with the names he chooses for his characters.

There's a cool secret behind the character names in Inception, for example, and while The Prestige is based on a novel and thus the director already had his character names spelled out for him, there's still a nifty little magic-related easter egg that reveals itself when you combine the initials of the two main protagonists.

Alfred Borden is "AB", while Robert Angier is "RA". Put those two together, and you get "ABRA", the first four letters of "Abracadabra", a word used by magicians when performing a trick. Abracadabra!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
