Rocky Horror himself was played by professional model Peter Hinwood, who was ultimately chosen more for his chiselled looks than his singing chops.

In fact, Hinwood wasn't much of a singer at all, and so the decision was made to have a session artist record his vocals, while Hinwood simply mimed them on-set during shooting.

In post-production, however, director Sharman decided he wanted Rocky Horror's voice to sound different, and so hired Australian singer Trevor White to re-record the vocals.

Though for many years Hinwood was said to hate talking about the movie, he more recently opted to simply refer to it as "part of the past."
