The film's epilogue reveals that Facebook is valued at $25 billion and has 500 million members worldwide. 10 years later, it's valued at around $130 billion and has over 2.4 billion active members. So much has occurred in the last decade surrounding the company and Mark Zuckerberg that a sequel is probably warranted.

It could look into Facebook's acquisition of Instagram, WhatsApp etc., their rivalry with Google, Amazon and Apple and of course all the scandals revolving around privacy, fake news, Cambridge Analytica and the 2016 U.S. Presidential election, just to name a few possible plot lines.

I mean who wouldn't want to see Jesse Eisenberg telling Congress that they have the minimum amount of his attention? Even the Winklevoss' could be involved as they continue to seek more money from Zuckerberg.

And the best part is, it definitely could happen. Last year it was revealed that producer Scott Rudin had been pushing for a script for a sequel, and that Sorkin was very intrigued by the idea:

"First of all, I know a lot more about Facebook in 2005 than I do in 2018, but I know enough to know that there should be a sequel. A lot of very interesting, dramatic stuff has happened since the movie ends with settling the lawsuit from the Winklevoss twins and Eduardo Saverin."

We can only dream...
