20 Things You Didn't Know About The Social Network

7. Saverin's Shares Weren't Diluted To "0.03%"

In the film's most memorable scene, Saverin explodes with anger as he learns that his shares in Facebook are being diluted from around 30% to: "point-zero-three percent."

The scene really shows off the quality of acting from Andrew Garfield, Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake and of course features the now iconic smashing of the laptop.

But the truth actually takes the sting out of this scene a little bit. While it makes for a great moment and a dramatic line, Saverin's shares weren't diluted that badly and though exact details are kept under wraps, it was reportedly just under 10%, which was still a lot of money but as the film accurately depicts, Saverin was effectively being frozen out of the Facebook and his friendship with Zuckerberg was over.

Also spare a thought for all the laptops that were destroyed as a result of Fincher's notourious multiple takes.
