Unbreakable Movie
Buena Vista Pictures

A common occurrence in comic books are for characters to have alliterative names, simply meaning first and last names that begin with the same letter. Some examples from the Marvel universe include Peter Parker, Dr. Doom, Richard Reed, Bucky Barnes, Susan Storm, Otto Octavius, the list is almost endless.

Therefore, it is more than likely that Shyamalan's decision to call Bruce Willis' character 'David Dunn' is more than just coincidence and that the director was once again referencing the comic book style the film was built upon.
