One of the clever visual decisions in the film is the way Elijah (Mr Glass) is constantly presented through reflections in glass. In one of the films early scenes, we get to witness the Elijah's birth where it is discovered he has been born with broken arms and legs. This scene is almost entirely shot in the reflection of the mirror behind his mother.

This clever visual nod continues to happen throughout the film, with the scene introducing the child Elijah showing him again being reflected in the glass of this time a television. Another example comes when the adult Elijah is introduced and is reflected in the glass of the framed comic book art he is describing to a potential buyer.
