20 Things You Didn't Know About Your Favourite Action Movies
10. Steven Seagal Broke James Bond's Wrist Once
You've never seen a guy more visibly calm, even in the midst of snapping necks. Steven Seagal took a nose-dive into the world of direct-to-DVD flicks for a while, but in lieu of its brevity, Seagal's moment in the sun was more memorable than some action stars' whole careers, defined by, and peaking with, the classic Under Siege. Don't let the ponytail or the weird foray into country and reggae music fool you: Seagal knows what he's doing when it comes to kicking ass, and it's his focus on specific fighting styles that sets him apart from the pack. He's a 7th-dan black belt in the Japanese martial art aikido, implementing the style not only in his own films but also as a coordinator on the James Bond movies Never Say Never Again and A View To A Kill. In fact, during the filming of Never Say Never Again, the film's star, Sean Connery, was taking martial arts lessons from Seagal and somehow managed to piss him off. Seagal, in turn broke Connerys wrist. Rumors that Seagal went on to yell "Who sent you? Who sent you !?" are sadly unconfirmed
