20 Things You Didn't Know About Your Favourite Action Movies
5. The Brothel Scene From Kill Bill 2 Employed Actual Prostitutes
In case you didn't know, Quentin Tarantino is a big fan of realism (for the most part), especially when it comes to prostitutes. Apparently, Tarantino really needed the brothel scene between The Bride (Uma Thurman) and retired pimp Esteban (Michael Parks) in Kill Bill Vol. 2 to be truly authentic, because it was filmed at an actual brothel in Mexico with real prostitutes in the background as extras. One can only imagine how off-putting it must have been for the films actors to perform scenes within an actual brothel especially if filming took place during opening hours. Awkward! The scene was apparently the last one filmed before completion of both films, so it might be safe to assume that the films crew decided to save some of the budget by filming on location rather than building an entire set for what is only a few minutes of dialogue. Whatever the reason, you definitely cant fault Tarantino on his desire for authenticity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flpxujAPNYE
