19. Desperado Was Almost Raúl Juliá's Final Film

Taking heavy influence from John Woo, Robert Rodriguez delivered world class kick assery with 1995's Desperado. This time it comes in the form of Antonio Banderas as a wandering guitar player who carries an insane amount of guns in his guitar case. Banderas is on the hunt for the killer of his lover and maimer of his fret hand and on the way, he kills quite a lot of bad guys. However, the bad-ass meter could have gone through the roof. None other than the late great Raúl Juliá was originally set the play the film's antagonist, Bucho, but had to pull out due to declining health. The actor passed away on October 24, 1994. The role went to Joaquim de Almeida and Julia's final big-screen role would be in the 1994 film Street Fighter, as the ridiculously over-the-top (yet, quite entertaining) M. Bison.
