Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis fulfilled the dreams of teenage boys and men everywhere when they shared a steamy makeout session in the psychological thriller Black Swan, but it apparently did not come naturally for the duo. According to Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, the actresses shared drinks together before the scene, because they're close friends in real life, and they felt awkward about playing an on-screen game of tonsil hockey.

Kunis denied this. She retorted, “I don’t think we could have done that scene if we were intoxicated.” But in addition to the director’s own words, someone else on-set told The Hollywood Reporter that the pair were definitely “in their cups” during the scene. Hooray for liquid courage!

Perhaps Kunis simply refused to admit that there was intoxication at hand in order to sound professional. On the other hand, it’s more than possible that some wires were crossed in the re-telling of these events, and that Kunis and Portman were sober as judges - and yet it’s way more fun to imagine the pair were near-on hammered.
