6. In Candyman, Those Were Actual Bees In Tony Todd's Mouth

In the role that made him a genre movie icon, Tony Todd plays the urban-legend-come-to-life known as Candyman, a Bloody Mary-like entity who's summoned by chanting his name three times before a mirror. Set in and around Chicago's Cabrini Green projects, Candyman is a gruesome and hypnotic piece of urban dread, not to mention a horror flick that's as solidly acted as it is viciously paced.

One thing that adds to the creepiness of the film is the fact that real bees were actually put into Tony Todd's mouth while they where shooting the infamous climax. His only protection was a mouth guard that kept him from having the bees go down his throat.

Over the course of three Candyman movies, Todd reportedly got stung over 20 times. However, the man had a great lawyer and he was able to get financially compensated for each sting. After it was all said and done, the actor walked away with an extra 20-plus grand for his troubles. Not too shabby.  Who wouldn't take a few bee stings for the team?
