20 Things You May Have Missed In Creed
18. Changes Made During The Film's Development
It is expected that the initial idea for a movie and the final product can be very different beasts from one another. The creative process is rarely linear and a medley of both internal and external factors can impact the film's structure and tone, among other aspects.
This can be seen with the first draft for the Creed script. At an eye-watering 204 pages long (meaning that the film could have been over three hours long), the document was finally trimmed down to a manageable 119.
Furthermore, there were allegedly two different endings shot for the picture, specifically for the Creed/Conlan fight. According to producer Irwin Winkler, the ending that saw Creed win the match was conceived so that studio execs would greenlight the film.
